Online Convergence 2009

Heike Philp

Ancient Twitter (Pecha Kucha @ WIAOC)

This 5min presentation is about the pneumatic tube system in Paris around the early 20th century for the speedy delivery of mail.

I showed this recorded presentation during the first Pecha Kucha night because several presenters asked to be able to present later, rather than earlier.

I think it beautifully shows the potential of Pecha Kucha presentations and is a lot of fun to watch. Enjoy.

BTW, Ignite is the presentation format invented by O'Reilly inspired by the Pecha Kucha of Klein/Dytham. Pecha Kucha is patented and this is why O'Reilly created a new format that is even shorter allowing 15sec per slide as opposed to 20sec (20 slides). http://ignite.oreilly.com is their main website.
