This 6min 40sec presentation describes a 6 week pilot project with a class of 15 students, 13-14 year old who were connected with a German class of students, about the same age group. The prospect of meeting English learners in another country was a spontaneous decision in the middle of the pilot, yet this proved to bring a total new level of ambition to the Chinese learners. Highly motivated, they did their utmost of creating audio files and powerpoint slides to introduce themselves. What a joy to watch this excitement.
(about Holly) Holly Longstroth is an American English teacher and materials developer who has been living in Finland for 11 years. She holds a master in TESOL and a master in organisational leadership and is teaching live online in a virtual classroom and in Second Life. Since January 2009 she is Director of Studies at LANCELOT School.
